Featured for this Event: Friendship & ART PARTY!

Art Party! Throughout the evening, while karaoke is happening, everyone is invited to join in one or both of our art activities centered around the theme of friendship and relationship building. Reflecting on themes like...

  • What does friendship look like?

  • What does it mean to be a good friend?

  • What’s something you love doing with friends?

  • How do you show someone you care?

It’s a night to celebrate connection, kindness, and community through creativity and collaboration.

Community Collage:

Each table will have large shaped piece/s to color and decorate together. Groups will use colors, words, and images inspired by the friendship theme. At the end of the night, all the pieces will connect to form one large, collaborative artwork representing unity and belonging.

Friendship Buddy Exchange:

Participants can design their own Friendship Buddy using either a smooth rock or a cardboard tube as the base. Using a variety of decorating materials, each person will create at least two buddies, one to keep and one to give away before the end of the night. When participants exchange their creations, they’re sharing a handmade symbol of friendship and the joy of giving

Both art activities are designed with accessibility and inclusion in mind. We’ll have adaptive tools to help hold art supplies, a variety of materials to match individual preferences and abilities, multiple seating options, accessible spaces throughout, and supportive staff available to assist as needed. Everyone is welcome to participate and contribute in their own creative way!

Ways you can expect this to be accessible for all-abilities:

  • A visual songbook for easy song selection

  • On-screen lyrics, if needed, along with background vocal support if preferred

  • Multiple styles of microphones, so everyone has the opportunity to rock!

  • The ability to adjust key and tempo to accommodate individual needs

  • Live musical accompaniment for those who prefer or require it

  • Adaptive communication supports, including switches, buttons, and other assistive technologies. AAC devices welcomed and encouraged.

  • Support, if needed, by a music therapist to isolate output to single words/vocalizations, to support voices of ALL abilities.

  • Designated quiet area with sensory items, near the event space to meet self-regulation needs, but still be included.
